I am a certified Yoga Medicine Therapeutic Specialist

Yoga as Therapy
I work with a wide variety of clients on everything from managing pain, anxiety & stress, back pain, frozen shoulder, impingement, muscle activation and firing, continuing recovery pre & post chemo, surgery & physical therapy. Together we create healthy & balanced movement patterns that work in your body. My clients include everyone from college athletes to retirees. My goal is to work with you where you are. I do not diagnose or treat, I am not a licensed therapist for mental or physical health conditions; I listen, watch and take time to really understand what is happening in your body. All of my clients see results. Every body is different and no two sessions are ever the same. I use a variety of techniques in each session including: Myofascial Release, restorative poses, alignment, pranayama, meditation and Thai Bodywork. Together we harmony in your body.

Thai Bodywork
A sequence of poses and movements just like a yoga class. Only you are lying down on a thai mat & fully clothed. My style fuses both northern and southern thai styles; using thumbing of the sen lines, rocking + compression. You’ll be lulled into a state like savasana. Sessions are roughly 75 to 90 minutes.

Pranayama
Sometimes we forget to breath. And sometimes, we’ve forgotten for so long that breathing deep becomes painful and we feel stuck with a shallow breath. Many of us become reverse breathers as a result of poor posture and simply a lack of awareness. Together we can create subtle awareness and help you to become embodied with breath.

Meditation
I first learned meditation by jumping into a 10 day silent meditation known as Vipassana in 2008. My style of teaching meditation is led by the breath + being grounded in the body. Guided visualizations and imagery are not part of my practice or teaching.

Thai Yoga Bodywork is based on the concept of invisible energy lines, Sen Lines, running through the body, a concept rooted in Yoga philosophy. Yoga philosophy states that life energy (called Prana) is absorbed with the air we breathe and with the food we eat. Along a network of energy lines, the Prana Nadis, the body is then supplied with this vital energy. Thai Bodywork emphasizes 10 sen lines that access the most important acupressure points.

Chi Nei Tsang 1
Ohm RinRaya
Omsala, Chiang Mai Thailand 2012

Chi Nei Tsang is an abdominal sequence. The Taoist sages of ancient China observed that humans often develop energy blockages in their organs that result in knots and tangles in their abdomens. These obstructions occur at the center of the body's vital functions and constrict the flow of Chi ( energy) , our life-force. The negative emotions of fear, anger, anxiety, depression and worry cause the most damage. Problems can also be caused by overwork, stress, accidents, surgery, drugs, toxins poor food and bad posture.

Testimonials

The session was personalized and caring. Kimberly is knowledgeable about methods to figure out my specific issues and genuinely curious about finding solutions for me. She has helped me to trust my intuitions about myself and my body and treated me as a whole person.
— Sue Holms
Revitalizing! Kimberly patiently and masterly showed me how to re-engage areas of my body and revitalize my overall health.
— Dennis Cronin, pancreatic cancer survivor
I have been getting massages for at least 40 years. For many years, I got variations of deep tissue massage. While I liked those massages, I now only get Thai Bodywork. I was introduced to it about 8 years ago and was immediately hooked.
Instead of being all greased up and feeling like I was operating in a fog at the end of a my massage, I’m energized at the end of my Thai massages. You can just wear comfortable clothing.
— Jerry Gindele
During my Thai sessions with Kimberly I felt cared for, found more space in my body, a sense of opening up, and a release of tension
After my sessions with Kimberly I felt: more connected in my body, a sense of wholeness, more spacious, less tension, an overall sense of ease and well-being.
I would describe my experience as a wonderful way to embrace healing and care of my body, mind and heart. Kimberly has a caring and skilled touch in her use of movement that helped me feel an overall sense of well-being during and after my sessions with her.
— Lizandra Vidal
